Johnson MD-20?

I had a single-cylinder Johnson follow me home from a meet. Looks very similar to the MS-20, however it has the recoil, and block stamped “MD-38”, I believe. I can’t seem to find much about it online, I do know it is the smaller, 1.5HP though. If anyone has one or knows about them, please let me know!
