Looks like a Model AT. 5 HP precursor to the TD.

It’s a 1940 year model, 2.5hp. They were good running little motors. Their big brother is the AT 5hp. The ones I’ve seen ran well with some basic repairs. Anything that old will need some of that. If it has spark and some decent compression, the rest is easy. Use John Deere corn head grease in the lower unit.

Thanks for that ! I couldn’t find it listed . A little older than I thought it was .
No spark yet .. Compression seems ok . I’ll put a tester on it and see . All the connections on the mag plate are soldered and has some black paint looking stuff in everything. That’s something done at the factory right ?

HA uses the same primer as the larger AT models.  You will no doubt need new leather primer seals and instructions to install them.  If so send $10.00 cash (no checks or Money orders)  and a self addressed Stamped envelope to me:   Lloyd Lautner  9289 North Long Lake Road  Traverse City  Michigan  49685

And yes, the black paint looking stuff in the mag is normal.  Coils should read about 4-6 Kila ohms.
