Here is how I handle the bigger motors. I’m getting old too! This “Cherry Picker” is on heavy duty casters so I can move motors around in the garage with it.
As said they are great running/easy operating outboards. They are heavy but I get mine on and off a boat often. That being said,I am rigging a hoist this summer to “ease the process.”Mine is an extremely nice unrestored 1949 model so it and I are both 76 years old but it’s in much better shape.
I often tell the wife that I need to adopt a 12 year old boy for a little
extra muscle around the house. I only had my PO-15 on a boat
one time, and it was a blast, but a little scary on my small boat.
Most any collectable motor, in good condition, is worth $125.00. The people I know that have, or have had them, enjoyed running them. But the value of these is determined by what they weigh. Even nicest examples are hard to sell. I wonder how long this guy has been trying to sell his.
A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
These motors do appear to be in good condition and worth the money. My main reserve is also the weight, I don’t think one person could easlity man handle these motors. Come to find out I know the seller who I was quizing on what else he has that might be availabe. He’s not far from me and I may have to pay him a visit.
They are comparable in weight to a mid fifties big twin.
