      Hi all,

I’m currently working on restoring a 1947 TD 20. Thanks to another donor engine (which was seized solid) I had enough parts to assemble a complete engine again.

I have one question: The high speed needle on the carb turns very easily, in fact it rotates so easily that I’m convinced it will automatically “adjust” itself once the engine starts and vibrates. I’m sure that there weren’t any packing washers in the carb when I disassembled and overhauled it. I’m a correct when assuming there are supposed to be some packing washers in there to prevent exactly this problem?

A good resource for these carbs, but don’t see the packing mentioned.

As far as I know, it’s just the spring that holds tension on the
high speed needle ,keeping it from free wheeling.

        Prepare to be boarded!

          Thanks buccaneer,

There’s also no spring, so that might be it.
