      i have a great tn 26 motor except it revs up and down too much instead of being steady and backfires occasionally…

        Could be running lean. Perhaps sucking air into the crankcase somewhere,

        or carb needs adjusted richer?

          i put in 2 more quarts of fuel and it ran much much better. peharps the motor was tilted wrong with a low tank while in my test barrel and it was getting starved or maybe the low part of the tank screen is a little plugged up…but the fuller tank made all the difference
