Installed a new motor block in my TN28. After putting the magneto and flywheel back on, found that the flywheel
catches on the magneto. Can’t find out where or why. Thought I may have turned the base plate on the bottom
of the magneto, but that is exactly as it was when I took it off. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The normal culprit is an ignition coil that is not located properly.

I’ll recheck that. I have another magneto from another TN 28 to compare to – and the flywheel doesn’t catch on that one -forgot I had it. Thanks for your help!

The TN model Johnson has the standard OMC magneto. The coil’s laminated core should line up with the lath turned bosses on the magneto base by the red arrows.
