I picked up a Johnson V-45 outboard not too long ago. A mouse made its home in the exhaust and caused  some internal damage. The crankshaft, rods, and bearings all survived. The pistons and rings not, so much.  I was wondering what other models may be good candidates for suppling pistons for this motor?

      TIA, John C

The Johnson S-45 used the same pistons. The V-45 is basically 2 S-45’s stacked.

What is  wrong with the pistons? Broken? If not I’d be very  sur4prised if they couldn’t be cleaned up

I do have an S-45 that i may try. There are pieces of the skirts missing and one cracked piston skirt. The piston tops are all corroded. I used electrolysis  to clean the cylinder bores. I thought that I would check around first before making new pistons.
