      How much oil do I mix with 2 gallons of gas and is the exhaust pipe supposed to get really hot do I need to clean out the impeller tubes can they get clogged / why can I not throttle down to low it shuts off on me I can keep it running high but when I throttle down to low it just shuts off any pointers or tips

        Look at this web site. Lots on information on Neptunes.
        When you figure out the model number and approx.
        year, it tells you the correct oil mixture.

        I’m not familiar with the cooling water "exit" on this
        outboard. Some squirt out the side on the engine,
        some go down the exhaust tube to help cool it.
        Do you know if it’s pumping water?

          I attempted to explain the siphon cooling system in your other thread. No, it is not supposed to squirt any water from above. That would break the siphon and it would not cool properly. You do understand siphons, right? Or maybe you aren’t old-school where "some of us" used to siphon gas out of the neighbors car. S.h.h., don’t tell anybody.

          In the first place, you don’t have it deep enough in the water. Secondly, centrifugal water pumps don’t work too well in a bucket anyway. Take the prop off and see if it cools better.

          Yes, the exhaust tube gets very hot. There is fire on the inside of that thing.

          I don’t know why it won’t run slow. I’m not there to check it out.
