Decided to clean up and check everything out on my newest JW 60 # on both cylinders 😐 What is this on the side of the lower covers? Never seen one before.

Since your motor is a JWF, it is a folder and the latch you are looking at is what keeps the lower unit folded up. I don’t have a picture but after folding the motor, the latch catches onto the skeg area.
