KE-7 fuel tank cap issue.

My KE-7 has been sitting for many years and now that I am into the rebuild process I found that the fuel cap won’t screw in. The threads look to be OK but they won’t engage. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

Whatever you do stay away from Seafoam deepcreep. it does not play well with bakelite. There is some strong solvent in that brand.

Is it the right cap ? if so, the threads may be damaged in the tank. they get damaged from the metal funnels and spouts. chase the tank threads.
