      Hello!

Working on a 1951 KG-7 with a Q tower and lower. I’m wondering if there ever was an aftermarket carburetor intake cover or horn, to prevent water intrusion. I have been suggested to modify a ladle or some other round piece of equipment to make a shield, but I wasn’t sure if there was an original piece that could be found. My lower covers do not fit on the motor with the throttle cable installed, so I have to run it as is. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.

      Thanks!

I don’t think anything like this was ever commercially produced.

What you seek may not be a factory standard item or even an accessory. BUT, that should not discourage you from looking

A hard used KG4 came my way minus cowl, but with an AJ23A carburetor with a combination choke and cover such as you  seek, The screw holes lined up so the cover likely came from a Tillotson carburetor  application without a cowl, Possibly a lawnmower , chainsaw or other  small engine,.

By all indication the KG4 had been altered for some sort of competition and used quite a bit,

          Hope this helps

          Louis
