The tank is missing the insert to screw in the recoil screw. I have tried putting in a helicoil but gas does leak out of the top of the tank. I need ideas to fix the issue aside from finding a new tank. All help is appreciated.

Using one of the tank sealers on the
        inside might be worth considering

I’ve got a bunch of tanks available, but shipping might be cost prohibitive.

For what it’s worth, I am not following the question….if the insert is MISSING, what did you put the Heli-coil into?

II have been led to believe
that if you ship a from a company facility like
fedex to another of their locations near you,
where you can go pick it up it, cost less than
having it delivered to your door. If that is true
and you have one nearby you may be able to
save a few dollars that way.

how about a sealer on the screw and threads? unless it is the tank cracked. being on top don’t fill all the way. like a vent.

Redneck repair would be to epoxy a stud in the hole, and use a nut to hole the rewind on.
Much better than duct tape too, lol

At this point I soldered in the helicoil, but will probably need a new tank.  ( the whole inert was missing.)

How much are you asking?  Do you have any pics of the tanks? I may be willing to pay for shipping.

I missed the first part. You can try this.
Might want to use some sealer when install the
insert and defiantly on the screw when you put it in.
