I have a 1958 RDE 19 35 hp Javelin I’d like to convert to a single line. I’ve done this in the past with smaller OMCs and ordered a plate off Ebay from the same source but it is too small. I could drill and tap the bypass cover I have but the fuel pump would then be pointing up and I’d have to find a way to reorient the hoses. I’d just as soon not mess with the check valves. Can I use a bypass from a slightly newer engine? If so does anyone have on available? (I need two actually) Or does someone make the appropriate plate?

Another option I’ve considered would be to add a small electric fuel pump. It would need to supply the proper pressure –

I found these on ebay from 1960 RD – looks like you could tap the screw holes and drill out the center passage(?). Thoughts?

OR – I keep responding to my own question – anyway – might be easiest to tap the bypass and use a 90 degree fitting to get a pulse and then drive a pump.

Easiest way:  Drill & tap the existing bypass cover and use a Sierra 18-7351 pump.  Rerouting hoses, no big deal.

EDIT:  Yea I know, that isn’t correct picture for 18-7351.

                That’s it. Thanks.
