Looking for information on Lauson serial numbers to year built. I have a number of early 410 models 1940 -1947 but can only find serial #.
Also looking for gas caps 1940 – 1956 all are the same, and any other parts.
      thanks

Sorry – the information I have does not list serial numbers . . . 🙁

Go to this site and scroll down a bit to find a description of the numbers. These might be model numbers instead.

lauson73, It appears that at least from 1950 thru 1953 the Lauson model numbers ended with a digit that corresponded to the model year. I have a T-651-R that is a 1951 motor. Before and after these years the rule doesn’t seem to hold. I see from your info that you are a recent member. For a lot of years prior to about 2006 the club had a Lauson Special Interest group leader , Mr. Rick Neis, (now deceased I believe). Rick was a regular contributor to the "Outboarder" with general interest and technical articles about Lauson Outboards. If you search out old issues perhaps 2000 – 2004 you will find his articles in many issues. The club has not had a Lauson "Leader" since Mr Neis’ departure. May I take the liberty of suggesting that with your apparent interest and the most appropriate "handle", you may be the perfect guy to pick up the Lauson mantle. Give it some thought. It would be good for for the members to again have a focus point for these unique motors.
