I’ve been doing a lot of yapping here about Merc & Chrysler so I should mention my Clinton J9 fired up yesterday. The fuel line coupler weeps a little so needs attention. I haven’t pulled the rubber bits out of the metal tip yet. It appears to be an O ring and a rubber sleeve/tube. Are they both removable? I did make a new clamp spring as it was gone but the ball and inner spring are fine. Got a gear set from Ed/Sam so it is water ready otherwise.

OK its a quad ring looks to be 7/16od x 3/16 id. an x ring might be better but not seeing that size in charts- so plain o ring I guess.

Sorry I can’t help on the size details, but get an o-ring made of Nitrile, which will stand up to gas.

guzzi john, I am about to fire up my J9 Apache that I recently aquired and am anticipating the same weeping problem. Could you please tell me the Granger part number for the o-rings and tell me if they worked fine for you? Thanks, Bill M.

I started my 1962 J9 Apache yesterday and it runs great! Not bad for a motor that hasn’t run in 12 years. There was no weeping on the fuel connector but I still want to buy some o-rings. There’s nothing like spare parts.

Thanks! I waited a few days and found that the connector weeped on the garage floor so I will need to open it up and clean and check the ball valve and install a new o-ring. When you said yours weeped, I thought you ment when it was connected to the motor. I didn’t realize it would weep when disconnected. I will order some o-rings tomorrow. Thanks again!
