        The Quick action magneto used in the early Johnsons were very robust and are nearly always good.
        Did you measure the secondary resistance?

          A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

            ..and don’t forget that you have to either test for spark between the two wires, or ground one and test for spark between ground and the other wire.

            To test for continuity, test between the two spark plug wires.

            You cannot test one wire at a time.
