Hi,
Looking to buy an evinrude or johnson 35hp from that time frame. would prefer electric start, short shaft. I’m in upstate NY. Let me know if you have any leads! would prefer running condition.
September 25, 2020 at 11:58 pm #217296How about a 1956 Johnson 30hp? I have one I’m considering selling. I’ve done a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration, like new condition. Electric start, short shaft.

September 26, 2020 at 12:00 pm #217325Yes, it is 12 volt. Found a mount bracket off a ’57 35hp that had the dual mount holes for either a 6 or 12 volt starter.

I just bought one of those, so depending on whether you want to drive or not and wait or not…… My Evinrude WILL be for sale. It also has the correct controls and dash plate, but solenoid is under the shroud.
This motor has been mechanically gone thru, new ignition, new gear case seal, rebuilt carb. It is in need of a power head gasket…
And someone put the wrong decals… Ugh
It will not be available until Mid to late April of next year..Richard
