      Hi Everyone!

I know I am getting outside of the parameters of this club by asking for help with a ‘modern’ engine, but I figured if anyone could give me a straight, honest answer, it’s you nice folks on here!  🙂

I am about to start fixing up a 1996  88 Special, and it is going to need the cylinders bored.  It’s been a long time since I’ve used a machine shop, and I know that they are not all created equally.

I live about an hour north of Atlanta, close to lake Lanier.  I’ve talked to a few shops around here and they all seem shady, or have horrible reputations, or both.  I’d really appreciate it if someone could recommend a good machine shop north of Atlanta.  I’m willing to drive a few hours if the recommendation is strong enough. So, please let me know if you know of a machine shop that can bore and hone a 90 degree V4, and possibly deck it.

Again, my apologies for posting about a non-antique…..but it is 30 years old… is that close enough? hahah

Many thanks for taking the time to read my post and offer some advice.

I have used Jayson White at Jays Block Shop.
Great work, fair prices.  Definitely give him a call.
