I think I know the answer to this, and want to hear something else. Good running CD-12, bought and tried in test tank. Running ass’y seemed loose at Tomahawk and I didn’t try running on the water. The pilot shaft bolts are loose under the steering bracket. I can sort of reach one. Is the only recourse to pull the powerhead and steering bracket to tighten them?

It was on my Gale model 5hp. About a 1957 model. They were so loose I thought the swivel tube top was broken, but when I got in there the bolts were just loose. Cleaned everything up and Loctite was used to hold them in. Thank goodness I was doing a water pump anyway.

This one doesn’t need a water pump, but I guess I’ll take it down almost that far, anyhow. You are getting pistons if your streets clear.
