Started a thread on a Mac 10 that I got for $25.00. I am new to this and I lost it. Start over. Thought it was seized but it was the rusted bearings in the gearcase. Cleaned out the rust. Looks 100% identical to OMC.Mating surfaces are OK and new bearings are on the way from MacMasters. Magneto and carb are totally foreign but clean. Put it back together, pumped in some gas and it took of like a scalded dog. Cant wait for the bearings to get here so I can get it on the lake. Will probably not do a total restoration but keep it as a ” survivor”.

I had a “below the decks” inboard motor based on the Sachs powerhead — 1 rotor, can’t remember the carb manufacturer.

Gawd-awful heavy and hard on fuel, but very smooth and quiet.

It was installed the center of a self-propelled surf-board — was heavy enough to keep the center-of-gravity low enough so I wouldn’t tip it over.

I think the top RPM was around 4,000. Slower than a 2-stroke 2-cylinder to accellerate, but had good torque.
