just a reminder if you have problems lining up the darn mounting bolts when reinstalling the magneto plate on oldies (early 50 -60s)
1= base plate bolt holes come in pairs so line them up approximately with the coil long bolt and the plate small bolt
2- leave one coil long bolt out and install remaining 3 bolts partially
3- install the mag plate carefully while pushing back the point rub blocks and oiler pad
4- take a sishkabob pick and insert it in the free hole of the coil and wiggle it to line up and drop down the base plate bolt hole under the mag plate
5- now you know one of 4 holes is correctly lined up to the base plate …… just proceed to screw down all partially screwed in bolts (3)
6= install the last remaining long bolt (remove the sishkabob pick 🙂 )
7- done !
