I didn’t realize the color until I got it home and some of the dirt rubbed off. I fount it on Craigs list. It had been on for almost a month listed as carb missing and make an offer. I made arrangements to meet and see it at the fella’s camp on Lake Ontario. Wouldn’t you know it that morning the truck wouldn’t start so I had to take the car. In a small shed out in back of his camp was the MK 30 standing in a corner and laying around he also had the tank with some original gas, the controls, an Attwood steering wheel and a winch and mounting post from a boat trailer. The motor was complete. I couldn’t find any markings on the prop but it looks like 10 or 12 pitch. I made him an offer for everything and he took it. So I squeezed everything but the lower unit into the trunk and drove it home 60 miles. He told me the motor had been on a wooden boat that was fast and the boat had a canvas bottom. In this part of New York that could only mean a Pen Yan. Unfortunately the boat had been lost when the barn collapsed some years ago.
