      Home stretch on the tuneup for this 54 7.5hp Evinrude Fleetwin. ($50 garage sale find)

      Is this mark on the cam follower where I’m supposed to set the throttle when adjusting the timing? That’s riiiiight where the throttle begins to opens, so I’m thinking that mark has a reason for existing…

        That is the mark for setting the carb throttle timing…not ignition timing I believe…

          Correct. The carb throttle should just barely be about to start opening when aligned with that mark. The two marks above and to the left are for setting the points timing with a timing fixture.
