Again, I am puzzled by an unfamiliar (to me) carburetor.
My Martin 60 has a Tillotson model MD 5B carb. My parts catalog for a Martin 60 shows only a Tillotson model MD 15B.
Upon reassembly I noticed a part in the catalog that is not present on my carb. That part is item number 28 part number 08423 “main nozzle”.
My carburetor has no main nozzle and does not even appear to have room for a nozzle once the idle tube is installed.
Additionally, my service manual on page 6-6, item G under disassemble simply states “unscrew the main nozzle channel plug screw from the upper body”. There is no mention of a main nozzle or it’s removal. (My carburetor does have the plug screw.)
So, am I right is thinking the Tillotson model MD 15B is different than the Tillotson model MD 5B in the main nozzle is not a removable part of the MD 5B carburetor?
      Thank you for the help,
      Drifter

Seems odd to me too Frank. The idle tube takes up the cavity. The idle tube is hollow with a small hole at the top (on the side of the tube) very similar to the high speed nozzle on the OMC carbs of the 50’s.
The only threads I see are for the plug screw.

Hand me a big old piece of that humble pie. My unfamiliarity with this Tillotson carburetor had me overlook the high speed nozzle deep in the casting cavity.
            It was there all along.
