Third times a charm, ran the KE4 for about 20 minutes in the tank and no water leak. There is some fuel leaking from somewhere…can’t find it yet but shouldn’t be too difficult to track down. Will drain the fuel tank and put it on the rack until I get around to finish restoring it.

May be a crack in the tank near a bolt boss usually from too long of a bolt installed very common mistake.

Is that what all this welding is about?

Dave, You might be onto something…my motor is sitting a little tilted down in the back and it seems to be leaking from around those bosses I believe. I did see a little leaking around the carb area (which I did rebuild) but not a whole lot…more from the tank area.

Tank came from a mandatory free pile. When they call your
number you have to take something. Some really good stuff
in that pile but by the time my number was called the good
stuff was gone. Several bosses have definitely been re-welded
but appear to still be leaking as they have gobs of silicone
over them. The welds look good so maybe some long bolts
got put back in after it was repaired not knowing what caused
them to leak in the first place. I have given the tank 2 coats of
sealer inside and several outside around the welds. Should
be fine now. Good enough for a spare anyway.

Actually the service ke-4 stated 3/4 pint or 12-1 fact, The only racing comment is wrong. look on the motor. You will see I am correct
