mercury 2 lever control cables

take new merc cable loop end type cut 4 1/2 in off end. install 1/4×28 helicoil in cut off cable. cut 1/4×28 threads over the 1/4 x40 threads of the old brass from the old cable. assemble the 2 parts . use the inner wire from the old cable . finished. see pics

That’s pretty clever. Is that a Teleflex Merc-style cable you used?

I think so it is an old cable just to try no markings. merc loop end style. square box on up.
