I have a chance to get a very clean mark 6A in green farley cheep, I don’t know anything about these, it doesn’t come with a tank.

Do these take a pressure tank?

      Are they worth messing with?

I assume it has been setting a long time and the seller has no clue

Storage woes will include impeller. Located on drive shaft. Illustrated parts manual will be helpful as will 1965 and Prior Models Mercury Service Manual. Not as easy to work on as some and not as bad as others, Most issues related to lower unit, Check gear lube for water intrusion, gear case for impact or frost cracks. Rebuilding lower unit is not going to be easy or cheap so look before you leap. Even if everything checks out ok, replace impeller, both lower unit seals. and gear lube. By all reports KF5, Mark5, Mark6 and Mark 6A are nice runners, but, lower unit issues are common,
