Mercury 9.8 Question

Hello, All, does anyone know the proper points setting for a 1972 Merc 110, 9.8 hp with Thunderbolt ignition?

If I am not mistaken .020 don’t clean or dress these points and if they are not new it is hard to set them because of the pitting so leave them alone if they are working. check the plastic insulaters the go bad and will cause no spark.

John, here is some info from the factory manual that might help. Don’t forget to check all of the wiring as those motors have poorly made wires that tend to dry out and crack, exposing bare wires. Pull the flywheel and check.
