Mercury hood chrome stipes

I have a ..not to bad looking 4hp with some wear and tear… tear is mostly the narrow chrome band around the hood .

Anybody ever replaced it for cosmetic reasons ? .

Any narrow band chromed tape out there ? . I guess about 3/8 inch wide would do ? meantime i’ll go browse the Net

I work at a sign shop and we have chrome vinyl. I’ve cut strips of it and used it for similar applications. Well, exactly the same application to be honest. But it was on a merc 200.
If you have a sign shop around go there and see what they have. Make sure your substrate is clean and bump free! Any imperfection shows up glaringly!
