I’m about to reinstall the powerhead onto the tower on my KE4. I noticed that the water tube where it emerges from tower is flared at the end (and slightly cracked … nothing a little solder won’t fix). Is the end supposed to be flared where it makes contact with the powerhead, or do I need to fix up the end?

      Thanks,
      JP

yes and an o ring goes under it.

Thanks, Dave. The o-ring is missing so I’ll add one. I also have a little round gasket, that I assume goes between the copper and the powerhead?

On rare occasion the water tube may require replacement. In that event deflare the tube and
draw it out the bottom of midsection. Use the old tube as a pattern to bend replacement tube
Allow a bit extra length at both ends of replacement tube. Installing tube in exhaust housing
requires a bit of wiggling. Once in place cut to length and flare upper end. Make sure tube
does not interfere with drive shaft. Lower end of tube can then be adjusted for length.
I have done this on WD4 and it should be about same on KE4 with exception of the rubber
            adapter into gear case.
Not often needed but not a big deal. Helps to lay old tube on board and tack a pattern
of wood on board to form a channel to mold new tube into.

Thanks, Louis. I did a little solder on the flare this afternoon, and I think I have salvaged it.

On my question on that little gasket, I don’t think it is actually applicable. With the o-ring under the copper flare, and the powerhead gasket above, I don’t see where it would fit, unless I am missing something here. Anyone have any guidance on that little round gasket?

Manual does not show an "O" but does show the small sort of round gasket. My guess is the
clever native craftsmen discovered another and possibly better way to skin the cat.

Yep, agreed. I’m going with the o-ring.

If anyone is interested I can send a photo of the device to guide bend of replacement
water tube. Simple to make and very helpful.

If you use the gasket does it go below the gasket or above up against the power head. Power head kind of looks like it may have a small step in it.

how is it motors multiply when the garage lights get
                        turned off?
