      ED the first were green the black crinkle finish were the last about 1959..KAMINC were green with longer handles and red and black removable knobs I have a NOS one.

        Thanks for that Dave. Long time no see. I have a set somewhere. I think they are green. I was going by a old advertisement I saw which showed a KAMINC set in black. I had bought the green set with the intention of painting it black. I had to put everything on hold about ten years ago and then I moved all the toys to a barn I bought and everything including me is slowly getting back online.

          here are more pics. black one in the boat has black and silver handles also came with black and white handles. the right one in the pic of 3 with the steering hoop is the same color as the KAMINC .

            I dug around some and came up with these. Those handles have been cleaned up but I have another one with the red and black knobs. The KAMINC and the Quicksilver have the same casting number so they would have just changed the finished side of the die/mold. Otherwise one mates right up to the other. I always wondered if the controls for an Evenrude/Johnson of that era were made by the same company. I think I was once told they were Simplex?
