      Condition is EVERYTHING.

Location is important as well. Selling a motor in the American market  from Australia, will affect the value.

Also, does it run, shift, pump water as it should? Is a fuel tank included? Is it complete?

These questions mean the difference from a $50 motor, ( parts motor), to potentially $500 motor is fully restored cosmetically as well as mechanical restoration.

Add to that, its value IS, the amount you are willing to sell it for and they buyer is willing to pay.

Name your price, if no interest, lower it until someone enquires….

Ignitions are the buggar on these, great motors but coils are getting harder to come by.

I know this does not help, but you hopefully may better understand, why it is so hard to put a price on a motor that is almost completely unknown.

      Regards

      Richard

What would separate your motor from all the others would be if it is in pristine original condition.  Lots of people here can be heard to say  “it’s only original once…..”

Those are the Auto-Trans motors;  different from what came before it and different from what came after it.  There are people who are familiar with the service procedures and like them.  A lot of other people  (even Mercury owners) stay away from the auto-trans.

So;  Like Richard said…..values vary.  Start with posting a picture.  It’s easy to post here as long as your image is 2MB or smaller.

You may want to consider building up your  OB smarts  on   J&E ……  easy to repair … lots parts

jw cd  ad qd fd types from the mid 50s onward.

1960s  onwards have fuel  pumps  vs    1950s pressurized  fueltanks and 2 line hoses .

a good beginner book  in Kindle form $10.00     … why $1479  for paper back ??? don’t  know but I am keeping my copy

Download the JOhnson service manual   it contains all you need on Johnson repairs but Evinrudes are near identical cousins 🙂
