Was it upside down in the box?
yes …they packed them that way…but i have no idea if the box was sitting upright or on its side or both all these years
Yes, I know they were packed upside down. I was thinking about the oil seepage. I would assume a few drops over so many years would be acceptable. What are your plans for it? As others have suggested, it is worth more right now in untouched condition. Anything you do to it is bound to chip some paint off screw heads, etc.

I thought the same thing about the oil seepage…I could preserve it but then life is short
and gets shorter with every passing dayFebruary 14, 2021 at 11:32 am #230570Very nice find. Hate to say it, but I’d have to see if it runs.
It deserves a chance to do what it was meant to do after
sitting in that box all those years…… Run Forrest Run! 🙂Prepare to be boarded!

February 14, 2021 at 12:29 pm #230624Nice motor! Good to see the original seamist color is almost silver. Some members should take note of that! Can you post some more pictures? I would like to see it up close and personal!
