need driving info

can anyone near Columbia SC provide road status going east bound on I-26 East to get to I-95 southbound to FL

I was planning to drive the usual snowbird route I-95 South via Florence SC but all road info from Carolina511 is pretty bleak … some bridges on I-95 apparently not to solid 😯

Southbound traffic being diverted west ward at I-20 over to Columbia because I-95 is blocked between I-20 and I-26

my alternative ..from Canada is I-81 South I-77 near Wytheville down to Charlotte &Columbia…onto I-26 East to merge on I-95 southbound

in 2 weeks approx.

My wife and I have made the run from savannah ga to Charlotte NC this week. Heading north on 95 it is closed above the exit for I-26. You have to take I 26 as a detour. We came back l-77 to 26 then got on 95. This is not our normal route as it takes longer than our standard back road route but the roads were clear.

Coming south I think you are correct in that you are diverted to I 20. I have heard from friends that you could not take I-26 through Columbia past the I 20 exit.

I do know they have detours posted but think they are not direct and expect they are crowded.

In two weeks things may be better but a safe bet is your i77 route

I think I will switch my Florence motel reservation to somewhere around Colombia and take my alternative choice being 81–>77—>26 route to—> 95 South to work around the mess in Florence.
