      Good day eh’
I have a 20hp Johnson I’m having trouble identifying here.
      Model# 20BA76D
      Serial# C 17590
Made by Johnson in Peterborugh, Canada

I believe this to be a 1976 model but I can’t get the serial# or model# to come up in the USA.
I need a carb kit for it and want to order the right one. Also, this motor has one of those weird 3 finned gear cases. I need a seal kit for that.
You guys helped me with this once before on the old boards that crashed and I no longer have the info.

      Thanks guys,
      Wannabe

Correct, it is a 1976. I may be wrong, but I think it might be a commercial model. Don’t worry about the gearcase, it’s just a regular unit used on the 22 cubic inch motors for a long time, with added ears. In fact, they put it on some American motors for awhile–till everybody sawed them off. Use the parts list for the 1976 25hp for that. Carb kit?? That, I hesitate to speculate on, but again probably a stock carb of the era, unless they had the nerve to put the carb of bygone years on it.

Black Cat Antiques has the manual for those motors. At the current exchange rate is great for US customers 🙂

This one is going on my Son’s 8′ hydro, so I’ll have to convert it to run on Molson xxx 😀
