I have a 1.5 hp Neptune its marked “OB-100 3/5.” Crankcase marked “O-B-100-1”. Would like to know the year and where to get a coil, points and condenser.

      Thanks.

          Only having a couple Neptune’s I don’t know much.
I think what you have found are part numbers.
Look on the rope sheave and see if there is a place for
          a model number.

Here’s a 1938 Neptune ad, showing a 1.2 and a 2 hp. Does it look like either of those,
            or perhaps much newer?

Neptune are hard to ID. The only way I was able to ID the one I just had was from the blue  color and that it was setup for a starter recoil which made it a Mighty Mite 700. Tubs was correct about the numbers being part numbers.  There were no ID markings on the ones I have encountered.  If that is the same for all, then I find it odd that Muncie made this their business model. They sold a crap load of these little putters over 50 years. You do not see them come up for sale often so either they are all still in hiding or have been thrown away over the years. Parts are scarce. Good luck in getting it going. Reach out if you need help.

To all, thanks for the response.  I’ve had it since 1952 and it ran great.  The gas tank was painted red, it doesn’t have a lower cowling and the rope starter pully is a replacement with no markings.     It’s been hanging in my garage/barn since 1954.  It’s a little banged up a couple of dents in the gas tank and the tubes going to the lower unit.  My son and I had it sputter a couple of times it has a fair spark.  That was with an auto condenser, I am going to put the old condenser back on.  I was told I need a mag. condenser the auto won’t work.  The points are very good no pitting, had to replace the spark plug wire it was hard and cracked. The flywheel magnates are strong.  The carb. is clean and the float works.   We would like to rebuild it if I can find gaskets.

                      Again, thanks ever so much,

                      Ed Juratic

The one on the top left without the cowling.

                        Thankx.
