There has been a lot of discussion lately here about bad aftermarket gas lines due to an inner liner collapsing. My next door neighbor today bought an Attwood line at Walmart for his 1978 30 HP Yamaha. It came with a new type of connector for the tank end and a plastic fitting to swap onto the tank. It said the new plug-in fitting "eliminates gas spray" (maybe some new federal regulation?). My neighbor didn’t want to use that and he had bought a new conventional connector to swap onto the tank end of the gas line.

When we cut the newfangled connector off, I expected to see the inner liner on the hose. There was no inner liner!!!, and the hose itself looked like excellent quality and thickness, and did not seem prone to kinking. The primer bulb worked great. It appears that Attwood may have finally got it right with their gasline tubing! $39 at Walmart.I’m glad he didn’t use the new tank fitting and connector. The part that replaces the brass connector on the tank was plastic, and although it may work fine, being plastic just didn’t look very strong.
DaveJune 24, 2017 at 4:08 am #60216I just bought a new BRP/ Evinrude 3/8" X 10′ gas line online for about $55. I am sticking with the OEM,never have had a problem with them.

The black rubber line, after a few years, got a surface degradation so when I touched it, black stuff rubbed off all over my fingers that was hard to wash off, but the line still worked well. Newer OMC lines don’t do this.
My neighbor priced out a Yamaha OEM line at a dealer at $79.95, so he was happy with the Attwood at half the price.
