We bought this 11′ Feathercraft, Lake Hopatcong, NJ a few days back, picture taken after much cleaning. It has mahogany seats that need some work. Any idea how old it is? The seller said 1950. It has an unusual shape, very wide transom, 5′. Any idea what the max hp motor it would take? Thanks, Carl

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

There should be a serial number on the starboard side of the transom on the outside. Feathercaft.com should have all the means to identify it. I have a 13ft feathercraft topper that I run on Hopatcong all the time.

My Feathercraft doesn’t have a serial number on the transom either.

Sometimes people cover the ID number when they replace the transom boards. Upper right side.

Looks to be a 1955 Feathercraft Penguin. I’ll take the transom board off tomorrow and look for the SN, Ty.

Congratulations on your latest addition. I suggest that you visit the FeatherCraft forum. You’ll find there’s a link there to almost every catalog FeatherCraft made. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ll find your boat in one of them. Based on the bow handle, my guess is its a ’56. The same as my FC Vagabond.

That looks very similar to mine, except for the bow handle. My title says 1948. I need to check out the FC forum.
