That motor does not have an inner exhaust cover, so the hot exhaust gases hit the outer cover and discolor the paint. Other models with both an internal and external exhaust cover circulate cooling water between the 2 covers so the outer cover stays cooler.

All the green CDs I have saw all have the brown discoluring.

Thanks John and others that was my real “first” ….concern about this beauty.

My last worry is what will I do with it after winter 2022 when I pull the FW and… maybe change a set of bad coils and clean the carb.

sell it or keep it ??? 🙁
