I just picked up another QD19 complete with a tank, restoration paint and decals and some new rebuild parts. It runs but gives me a tingle while pulling it over. Compression is not great, so I’m thinking a full rebuild with early 60’s guts to make it a 50:1 motor.

Wondering if anyone here is selling what I need as far as the conversion goes?

        A "tingle"???
        Use the pistons/rods, brgs/wrist pins from a 61-63 QD engine….

Thanks, yes, I think those are the parts I need…just looking to locate them (if that is allowed here)

I got a jingle holding my hand on the cover while starting it in a barrel. Mind you, I was standing on a wet driveway in flip flops. Normal?

You shouldn’t really be getting any jingles, no matter how minor…Look for worn plug wires, coils, frayed primary leads, stop switch leads…
You could advertise on this site’s classifieds for those parts.
You could also look on ebay for a complete late model powerhead that is affordable. You would then just remove the pistons/rods from the ebay powerhead, and install them in yours…

Great idea, never thought about the whole powerhead and classified section. I’m using my phone which is cumbersome (forgot there was a classified actually)

Frayed wire makes sense. Going to tear this one down to the ground.
