Hi everyone, I’m a brand new member. Just acquired a barn find vintage outboard from my 89 year old neighbor. It was his as a kid. Like to restore it in his honor. First step is find out the model and year and a picture of a restored one. Only words are Sea King MW & Co.

      thank you, Nick

Take off the gas tank/front cowl, and the carb. There should be a welsh plug on the port cylinder with a model  number stamped on it. It may be covered with old oil/dirt, etc. Let us know what you find.

This is the 1939 Sea King line-up.
          Any close to yours?

Thank you for the 1939 lineup. It looks like the 42 NOA.

I’m still get used to the format. I think I just sent a “thank you” but I wanted to personally say thank you for responding to me with the info. I’m going to try it. I’m already learning. This is great. Appreciate all of you

Is there a website that would help me learn how to remove the fuel tank?

                    thanks

So, who made those “Streamlined” Sea Kings , for monkey wards?

According to Seakaye’s link, all the motors in 1939 were either
                        made by Evinrude or Mercury.
The Streamliner version reminds me of some of those later, “guppy” looking Gale
                        products though.
