classicomctools@gmail.comFebruary 7, 2020 at 2:50 pm #194212Kerry, I have the one that you so kindly sent me that is indeed for the KE-4. It was made in Oshkosh and probably could fit a KG/KF but the instructions are for the KE-4. My original 1947 KE-4 does have that aftermarket rear handle. It is too bad that the KE-4 does not have much following as it is a sweet motor. I restored mine several years ago and did not get around to running it until two years ago. That was a mistake, as I love it. I took it to our Midwest chapter meet last year. Smooth easy starting quiet motor. Great fishing motor for immediately post war production.

February 13, 2020 at 7:54 pm #194755It is a great throttle and rear carrying handle. Only works with Bendix ignition. That is a great way to keep it setup.
February 13, 2020 at 8:43 pm #194763I was out looking at my KE4 after reading Louis’s KD4/KE4 post. Got to looking at the tiller and I was confused as it didn’t look like what I expected. Looking at the pic George posted I think I might have it figured out (maybe). Looks like it might be part of a twist throttle? I’m still confused about the hole on the flange at the base of the tiller (there’s one on both sides). Anyone know what they are for?
Thanks for your help
