Just trying to check here. I have an opposed twin and the tag looks to say 12U837 on it. Horizontal cooling fins on the exhaust manifolds and vertical on the underwater exhaust. In Peters book it shows #U so not sure if that is what I see with the 12 in front of the U. The manifolds point me to a 1928 or 29. Long tiller handle. Motor has some issues, but overall still cool. No camera at this time. Is that how the U Evinrudes were tagged? Do I need new glasses?

IIRC, no number before the U is ’28. after that, the numbers preceded the U, then the serial number. same for the H series Fastwins.
