Looking for the source and part number for the OMC coils I have heard work well as replacement for bendix scintella coils.

July 25, 2021 at 1:34 pm #243631NO omc coil work on bendix. ebay has a similar coil with 2 coil wire tabs that can work. ground 1 tab and use the other for the plug wire.

You can use the 2 cylinder coil.
Put the plug wire on one lead and
run a wire to ground on the other.
Note that the connection for the
plug wire is off to the side as
compared to the original so some
finagling is necessary to use them.A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
July 25, 2021 at 4:39 pm #243647Thanks for the reply. I have two of those coils, but mine have just one solder dot vs two. Will install and try them.
July 25, 2021 at 5:50 pm #243649The single solder dot coil would work wonderfully in your motor, just remember the orientation of that dot is NOT the same as the original Bendix coil , but if you take cautions and protect the lead from arcing out, it will work just fine.

classicomctools@gmail.comJuly 26, 2021 at 2:59 pm #243689will shoot a few photos when I get them installed. Looks to be very easy to reach the solder dot with an extended HV lead. Will insulate well with liquid tape.

July 26, 2021 at 9:04 pm #243697I have installed a OMC coil on Bendix magneto and it worked very good, looked bad but its covered by plastic coil cover. Since the Military Surplus are cheap and easy to install they are the best choice.

July 27, 2021 at 6:50 am #243703Finally, a photo that shows what I wanted to see. Given I have numerous Bendix mags to play with, I will definitely build up one with the omc coils. Thanks
