I don’t want to sound like the Grinch here but I have seen how
these things can blow up within a family. You being an outsider
increases the chance that you will be accused of taking advantage
of them and you already have one who is a problem. Your record
keeping must be flawless so if you end up in court you can prove
your innocence to the very people your trying to help. The first
thing you should realize is you won’t be doing this for your friend.
He’ll be gone. Nothing can be done till after he passes. Then you’ll
be doing it for his airs. Is there a Will? What does the Will say?
Do you know? For now you should forget about his stuff. What he
really needs is for you to spend as much time as you can with him.
Get him to talk about his memories. It take’s his mind off of what
he is dealing with now and back to the best times in his life. It’s
so sad his life has or anyone’s life to end this way. I hope they can
make his last days comfortable and he will soon finds peace.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

Agreed with Tubs about doing it later if you get involved and to spend time with your pal instead, although you might wish to discuss with him with family present how you want his wishes to be carried out afterward

          Punchbug,

I am in Hamilton and would be willing to help if you need it. You could also post the items for sale on our local chapters website. See my signature below. PM if you want and I can see if I can help.
