The ad selling a 1946 Sea Horse says comes with "Original Stand".
Does that imply that it was sold by OMC?
I believe I have a stand like it, and am curious it’s vintage and make.
      Thanks.

That does not look like a stand that was sold by OMC.

He says the motor has been in the family since purchased brand new and the stand was purchased with the motor, so evidently that’s his version of "original." Probably just stands that the dealer had on hand to sell with the motors. I have one similar to that too, I’ll go out and check in a little while and see if it has any ID.

Ok, well I have 2 stands that are similar to his but not exactly the same. One has the label on the drip tray (similar to his 5th picture) and the other one has it on the handle. They are made by Brinktun out of Minneapolis, where he’s listing.

Steve, amazing your stand still has the ID.
Will take a photo of mine to see if it is
              the same brand in discussion.

Yeah, I don’t see anything on my other ones. His has the label in the same spot as one of mine…maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

                  Aftermarket stand, but still cool.

It has 1941/’42 decals and a 1946 paint color. Many Johnson dealers repainted them Sea Mist Green after WW2. Civilian outboard sales was restricted during WW2, so many outboards spent 4-1/2 years in factory storage. It would be interesting to see if they had a dated bill of sale. . . 🙂

So, is my stand a "Brinktun" as well?
