      Hello!

I recently received a Mercury KF-7 in incredible shape.

However, the fuel tank; A, has a hole near the rope hole and B, needs to be repainted.

I am currently searching for a tank, but once I find one, would like to paint match the whole motor.

I’d like to get a smooth finish that is resistant to fuel, but I am not sure the best way to go about this.

If anyone has any advice on paint codes, brands, application, etc, please let me know!

      Thanks, Aidan

Cedar Green was the name if memory serves… To get best fuel protection mix hardener with the paint, you can mix the hardener with the clear coat as well….Either way work… GM has a color name that is really close, I can look that up this evening and get back with you….

I am going from shady memory, but I think they used 2 different greens, one called “Quicksilver green” and the other “Cedar green” Quicksilver was for 1956 and later, not exactly sure how many years later.  Not sure if you have a PPG store, but you can ask if they can dig up the codes for 2725A Quicksilver green  this can is from 2007, so that tells you it has been a while since I bought any.
