Trying to access older out-boarder magazine articles on Lauson outboards. If I am doing things correct I seem to come up with a number of articles listed by year and magazine info but they are not posted as far as I can figure out. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but having no luck in getting these articles,
As there is nobody listed as a person to contact about Lauson as there is on other motors, makes it hard to get info on these motors and work on them as this is new to me.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as they are old iron and should be preserved as all old motors.
In just over a year have over 25 motors and parts and time to start to restore them have 10 running but could use all the articles to help with this project.
thanks
Doug
Lauson 73September 4, 2017 at 3:12 pm #64295You can access them in the
The Inner Sanctum. (Green Board)AOMCI Library –
The Antique Outboarder Archives – from Skip Hagerman’s site.A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
September 4, 2017 at 4:18 pm #64305I don’t know anything about a green board and have been a member for less than a year so I guess that was before my time.
As I said before have looked uped the articles posted in the early magazines and looked up what year and month different articles were posted then looked up those magazines and they don’t seem to be scanned yet so not sure if I am doing something wrong or what. This site and workings are hard for a newbie to figure out.
But thank you for responding. DougSeptember 4, 2017 at 4:28 pm #64309Hi Doug,
The "Green Board" that Tubs is referring to is essentially the main AOMCI site:
aomci.org.At the bottom left you will see a link for "The Inner Sanctum". You have to ask Travis to set you up to access that area. Seperate password from this "blue board".
In the Inner Sanctum….there is a link to the old magazines…..currently from 1969-1979. Anything newer than 1979 is not scanned yet.
There is a LOT of information in the "Inner Sanctum" and as a club member you are entitled to access to it. Contact Travis and he will set you up. Just PM here….you will see his link in the "Read First" section….just above the "Ask a Member" section of the index.

September 4, 2017 at 8:20 pm #64319I think what you have looked up is the antique outboarder index by Art Dekalb. If you already had the magazines you could use this index to find what you are looking for. The antique outboarder archives have the issues scanned from 1969-1979 as previously stated. By the way, it’s great to know you already have 10 of these running. Don’t know why there isn’t much interest in that brand.
September 5, 2017 at 3:23 pm #64350What about the issues newer than 1979?
How about getting the people that print the magazine to also supply a digital version? Or….maybe they are already doing this?

September 5, 2017 at 3:51 pm #64351Thanks for all the info and I will do some more research. I was wondering if there is some way I could get copy’s of all articles on Lausons in print so can do some comparison of info. In comparing some info I have discovered I have one of the first 1940 motors made with out the mid year changes for later 1940’s. Info and parts and help are hard to come by as not much out there that I can find.
I would like to thank all that have replied as these are not the most popular motors, but that’s what interests me.
DougSeptember 6, 2017 at 4:42 pm #64404Here’s a little more info. Thanks again to the internet archive, aka "wayback machine". Found on the now defunct
"big lures Little Lures" website.https://web.archive.org/web/20060911230 … Lauson.htm
