Hey Friends, I recently got a 1957 5 1/2HP Johnson seashorse from my cousin. It needs a lot of work, and I am going to completely tear it apart and rebuild it. There are a number of rough paint spots or zero paint, bare metal areas. It’s the Burgundy color (very faded) Would would be a rust oleum or similar paint color that would come close to matching the original factory paint color?
Thank you.

April 11, 2025 at 8:24 am #295324Keep in mind that all three years of this vintage had slightly different shades of that burgundy/red color. I’m not sure how much it matters, or how much you want to spend, this option is available:

PS: Be sure your engine is a 1957 first
