What type of paint will last the longest in our motor applications?I repainted a couple of my larger motors with single stage urethane automotive paint and it holds up real well but is pretty expensive. I bought a can of Seymour EN-71 Hi-Tech Engine Spray Paint, Dull Aluminum on ebay last week and now am apprehensive. It appears to be acrylic enamel. Whats the consensus out there…enamel, acrylic enamel, lacquer or something else? I guess I could buy the urethane but it doesn’t take much to do one of the small motors and at $60.00+ a quart plus the hardener and reducer it can add up and I’d have a lot of extra paint with all the different colors made and then trying to match the original colors. NYMarine in Canada has paint but super expensive shipping of the rattle cans and then it’s acrylic enamel…is it durable. Lots of questions and just looking for some answers.
